Looking for Information - Seeking information from descendants of one Domenico DiRisio from Casalbordino, Abruzzi Italy. He most probably was born around 1874. He was married in Casalbordino around 1902 or 1903. When my father left Italy about 1910, Domenico had several children, with the oldest being about 6 or 7. Domenico and my grandfather (also named Domenico DiRisio) were first cousins and three years apart in age. I have several stories from my father about Domenico before he was married. Please email me at Albert DiRisio, Jr.
Looking for information - Frank DiRissio, from Rhode Island, is wondering about the 1s versus 2s in the last names. He wrote "My great grandfather, Vincenzo Di Rissio, Came to America, Through Canada I believe, in 1900. The story goes that he and his brothers had an argument over the s issue. Half took 1 s and the others took 2. They never talked again. He came from A village called Rissio or Risio in Rocca Monfina. I know I have Relatives in New Jersey who spell the name with 1 s. Please let me know if you know of any info about this matter." If you have info, please e-mail him, Frank DiRissio and if you would, also let me know Al DiRisio, so I can pass the information to others.
Looking for Information - Marjorie DiRisio Duger, from Jordan, NY, is looking for info on her side of the family. Some details are - "My dad was Phillip Albert DiRisio. His dad was Nicholas. Nicholas and Josephine came over from Italy but I don't know when. My dad was born here but some of his brothers abd sisters were born in Italy and came with my grandparents. I would love some family history because I really don't kow much and my dad and grandparents are deceased. There are 7 of us children. When I married I kept the name DiRisio because I am proud of the name my father gave me. My siblings are John, Eleanor, Jean, Phillip, Karen, and Frederick. My aunts and uncles on my dad's side are James, Louis, Mabel, Rosie, Loretta, and Helena. The one aunt who could give me the most history (Mabel) died a few years back. My dad's mother's maiden name was Romano." If you have any information, her email address is Marjorie DiRisio Duger.
