Learn the benefits, challenges and long lifelong impacts of a cross-cultural lifestyle. David will also present strategies for a successful transition into new cultures. |

An all day workshop open to those who support students beyond the classroom (i.e. counselors, resource teachers, speech and language, ESL). A panel consisting of a counselor, two resource teachers, and a speech and language therapist will work to help schools develop and refine effective Student Study Teams. The presenters will have universal forms that help mainstream staff identify students with needs. Bring ideas! |
| Kathy Hunt
Kathy has been in middle-level education since 1973 as a math teacher, team leader, curriculum coordinator, assistant principal and consultant based in Ohio, Florida and Colorado. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Ohio State University and her administrative certificate from the University of Colorado. Kathy has helped to plan an exemplary middle school and assisted the Department of Defense schools convert to middle school programs. For 6 years, she was a consultant for the National Resource Center for Middle Grades Education. In 1997, Kathy was given the Award of Distinction from the college of Education at the Ohio State University for her work with middle level teachers and students in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Currently, she is President of "Creative Solutions," a consulting firm specializing in innovative programs and practices at the middle school level. And, she still finds time to be a consulting author for Silber-Burdett-Ginn Publishing House and is authoring a book on teaming for Incentive Publication. |

Walt Grebing
For the past 18 years, Walt has consulted with more than 100 school districts in over 40 states, the DODD schools, and overseas schools. He is a popular presenter for such prestigious organizations as ASCD, AASA, NMSA and the New England League of Middle Schools. Walt is the immediate Past President of the National Middle School Association where he also served for 6 years on the Board of Trustees. As the founder of the Nuts & Bolts of Middle Level Education, Inc. Walt directs the highly acclaimed Nuts & Bolts Symposiums held each summer in Florida and Bolder. During his career, Walt has taught science, been an assistant principal and a middle school principal for 23 years in the Bolder Valley School District. From this impressive experience, Walt brings expertise in block scheduling, teaming, detracking, curriculum, school climate, learning styles, strategies for challenging all students in the heterogeneous classroom and much more. |

David Pollock
David has worked with the inter nationally-mobile community for more than twenty years. Working with "Third Culture Kids," he has logged thousands of miles conducting seminars and conferences for children and their parents, college students, adult professionals, international educators, and corporations who relocate employees abroad. In 1975, David and his wife moved their four children to Kenya, East Africa to work at a college for African young people. Since 1980 he has been the executive director of Interaction, Inc. conducting pre-experience and reentry programs for adults and young people participating in overseas assignments. He has co-authored a book entitled "The Third Culture Kid Experience: Growing Up Among Worlds." |
